Learning paths, certifications and compliance training

Sequence courses into paths, issue certifications, and track mandatory compliance training.

7 min read

Single courses teach topics; paths, certifications and compliance turn training into a program with deadlines and proof. These live under Learning > Certifications (/learning/certifications) and Learning > Compliance (/learning/compliance).

Learning paths

  1. 1Open Learning > Manage and choose New path.
  2. 2Add courses in the order learners should take them.
  3. 3Set prerequisites so later courses unlock after earlier ones are completed.
  4. 4Assign the path to a role or team; new hires can receive it automatically from an onboarding template.

Certifications

  • A certification is earned by completing its required courses and passing their assessments.
  • It can carry an expiry, after which the learner must recertify.
  • Learners see earned certifications on their profile; managers see who holds or is close to lapsing.
  • Open a certification to see its holders, issue dates and expiry.

Compliance training

Compliance mode adds accountability: a mandatory assignment with a due date and an audit trail. The compliance page shows on-time, overdue and completed counts per requirement and per team.

  1. 1Mark the course or certification as mandatory and set the due date or recurrence.
  2. 2Assign to the audience (for example all employees or a department).
  3. 3Monitor Compliance for overdue learners and send reminders.
  4. 4Export the report as evidence for auditors.
Reminders and escalation to managers use the same notification system as the rest of the platform. Set a recurrence for annual training so it re-assigns itself.
Compliance status is derived from real module progress and quiz results, so it cannot be marked done without completing the content.
