A cadence (Sales > Sequences) is an ordered set of timed steps: emails, calls, tasks and LinkedIn touches. Enrolling a lead or contact schedules the steps; replies, bounces and suppression automatically stop them.
Building a cadence
- 1Go to Sales > Sequences and create a new sequence; name it after the audience and goal.
- 2Add steps with a type and a delay (for example day 0 email, day 2 call task, day 5 email).
- 3Write email steps using templates (Sales > Templates) with merge fields such as first name and company.
- 4Set sending window and daily limits to protect deliverability.
- 5Save and activate the sequence.
Enrolling prospects
- From a lead or contact, choose Enroll in cadence, or bulk-enroll from a list.
- Enrollment is checked against Do-Not-Contact: suppressed emails and domains are skipped with a reason.
- A prospect can be in only one active enrollment per sequence.
- Manual steps (calls, tasks) appear in Sales > Today for the rep.
Stopping conditions
- Reply detected: the enrollment pauses or completes.
- Bounce or unsubscribe: the address is suppressed and the enrollment stops.
- Lead converted or disqualified: remaining steps are cancelled.
Every email includes an unsubscribe path; unsubscribes are written to the Sales suppression list so no other sequence can re-contact that person.
