CPQ (configure, price, quote) lives at Sales > CPQ. A quote is attached to a Deal, pulls line items from the product catalog, applies discount rules and produces a shareable document. Accepted quotes feed the deal value and revenue reports.
Building a quote
- 1Open the Deal and choose New quote (or start from Sales > CPQ and pick the deal).
- 2Add line items from the catalog: product, quantity, unit price, term.
- 3Apply line or quote-level discounts; discounts beyond your threshold require approval.
- 4Review taxes, totals and payment terms in the preview.
- 5Send the quote to the contact by email or share the link; track views and acceptance on the deal timeline.
Approvals and guardrails
- Discount limits are set per role in CPQ settings; exceeding them routes the quote to a manager.
- Quotes are versioned; editing a sent quote creates a new version so the buyer's copy is never silently changed.
- Currency follows the deal; contract term flows from the deal's contractTermMonths.
After acceptance
- The deal can be moved to Won and value is reconciled to the accepted quote.
- Commission plans read the closed value and term (see Commissions).
- Order form URL can be stored on the deal (orderFormUrl) for finance handoff.
