Payroll

Run pay using the employee, compensation and attendance data you already keep.

6 min read

Payroll draws on employee records, compensation and approved attendance and leave to prepare pay runs. Because inputs already live in People, there is far less to reconcile at period end. Payroll is at /people/payroll and is restricted to HR administrators.

Inputs

  • Compensation on the employee record supplies base pay.
  • Approved attendance provides worked time for hourly staff.
  • Approved paid and unpaid leave adjusts the period.
  • Approved expense claims marked for reimbursement can be paid with the run.

Running payroll

  1. 1Open People > Payroll and choose New run for the period.
  2. 2Review the generated lines per employee and resolve warnings such as unapproved time or missing compensation.
  3. 3Adjust with one-off bonuses or deductions where needed.
  4. 4Finalize the run. Lines are locked and payslips become available in Self-service.

Controls

  • Compensation fields are protected by field-level access; only authorized roles see amounts.
  • Compensation changes are cycle-based and are not routed through approval chains.
  • Finalized runs are immutable; corrections go into the next period.
Approve attendance for the whole period before creating the run. Unapproved time is the most common source of warnings.
Changes made to an employee record after a run is finalized apply to the next period only.
