Limnn vs Slack
Slack is the best-known team messaging app, with channels, direct messages, huddles, workflow automation, external shared channels and a very large app directory. Limnn Beam is team chat built into the Limnn platform. Cortex AI in the thread can read the live deal, ticket or task, recap a channel and draft replies — and Beam is included free with any Limnn Core plan.

Limnn entries describe what ships today. Slack entries are general and may vary by plan or edition.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Limnn if…
- You run (or plan to run) your CRM, help desk, HR or projects on Limnn and want chat on the same data.
- You want AI in chat that can see the live record — not just the messages.
- You want team chat included with the platform instead of another per-user subscription.
Choose Slack if…
- You collaborate heavily with external organisations in shared channels.
- You depend on many Slack apps and workflow-builder automations.
- Native mobile apps are essential for your team today.
Moving from Slack to Limnn
- 01Decide what history matters. Most teams start fresh in Limnn Beam and keep Slack read-only for an archive period.
- 02Create channels to mirror your team structure, set announcement channels to admin-only posting and create @groups.
- 03Invite people — they use the same Limnn login, roles and directory as the rest of the suite.
- 04Move notifications from Limnn modules (deals, tickets, tasks) into the relevant channels so work and conversation live together.

Limnn vs Slack: common questions
Is Limnn Beam free?
Beam is included with any Limnn Core plan at no extra per-seat cost. The Pro tier adds deeper Cortex capabilities. See pricing for details.
Does Beam have Jams or calls?
Yes. Jams support voice, video and screen sharing, with live Cortex captions and optional recording.
Can I use Beam without the rest of Limnn?
Beam also runs as a standalone app, but it's designed to be used with a Limnn workspace — its biggest advantage is acting on the CRM, help desk and project records in that workspace.
Does Beam support shared channels with other companies?
Not yet. If cross-company shared channels are central to how you work, Slack is the better fit today.
Is there a mobile app?
Beam works in mobile browsers; native mobile apps are not available yet.
