Looking for a Slack alternative?
Limnn Beam is team chat built into the Limnn platform. Cortex AI in the thread can read the live deal, ticket or task, recap a channel and draft replies — and Beam is included free with any Limnn Core plan.
Limnn BeamCommon reasons teams evaluate Slack alternatives
- Chat is another per-user subscription on top of the business stack.
- Context lives in other tools, so conversations fill with links and screenshots.
- Teams want AI that understands their business records, not only the chat history.
Slack remains a strong product for many teams. Slack is the best-known team messaging app, with channels, direct messages, huddles, workflow automation, external shared channels and a very large app directory.
What to look for in a Slack alternative
- Rooms, threads, DMs, search and Jams — the basics must be solid.
- AI recaps and answers grounded in your own data, with permissions respected.
- One directory and permission model shared with your other tools.

Switching from Slack
- 01Decide what history matters. Most teams start fresh in Limnn Beam and keep Slack read-only for an archive period.
- 02Create channels to mirror your team structure, set announcement channels to admin-only posting and create @groups.
- 03Invite people — they use the same Limnn login, roles and directory as the rest of the suite.
- 04Move notifications from Limnn modules (deals, tickets, tasks) into the relevant channels so work and conversation live together.

Slack alternative: common questions
What is the best Slack alternative?
It depends on what you need. Limnn is a strong fit if you run (or plan to run) your CRM, help desk, HR or projects on Limnn and want chat on the same data. Microsoft Teams, ClickUp are also worth evaluating. If you collaborate heavily with external organisations in shared channels, staying on Slack may be the better call.
How hard is it to switch from Slack to Limnn?
Most moves follow four steps: export from Slack, set up your structure in Limnn, import with the CSV importer and run a short overlap. Limnn Experts offer fixed-price migrations (from $300, capped at $1,000) if you'd rather hand it off.
Can I try Limnn before switching?
Yes. Every workspace starts with a 30-day free trial, no credit card required. When it ends, the workspace is paused — not deleted — until you choose a plan.
